KEY FEATURES:

Use the Sections button to navigate between several different POLITICO News, Blog, Policy, Morning Tipsheets, Videos, Opinion, LIVE online, and up to 100 user-Saved Articles. Now serving over 30 sections in all! You can now control what section content is downloaded and when (either automatically for the best offline experience, on demand, or never).

Article videos and images can be viewed inline or in full-screen mode. Video playback supports Apple's AirPlay technology.

Blogs, Tipsheets, and Video sections use a Table-of-Contents list for quickly scanning or finding what interests you most. Your open/closed setting of the Table-of-Contents is remembered until you change it.

Fully dynamic layout support in any view for any device orientation.

You can dynamically resize Article text so it's at your optimal reading size. Your desired setting is always remembered. To reset the size back to the original app default value, use the user Settings app.

Article links to the source content on politico.com may be copied or shared with anyone via Email, Twitter, or Facebook. You can also open them in Safari on your iPad.

Integrated support for 4 types of push notifications. Users can enable/disable each type individually in the user Settings app. The complete text of the last (unexpired) pushed notification is always downloaded for in-app viewing. When enabled, simply press the Alert button next to the Sections button to access it.

POLITICO can dynamically deliver additional content in the future, without requiring an app update. Make sure you have the “New Application Features Alerts” switch turned on in the user Settings app for POLITICO, to get notified when this occurs.

Non-video content is intelligently cached for offline reading when a network is not convenient.

Use the user Settings app to:
Enable/disable different types of pushed (or pulled) alerts
Clear any saved Twitter or Facebook login credentials
Reset the default font size setting
Remove all user-Saved Articles at once
Empty the cache of Article images, freeing up device memory usage
In the unlikely case of an app failure, reset all downloaded application files (doesn't affect cached images or Saved Articles)

Like any 24-hour news organization, POLITICO content changes several times, every day. The app will automatically check for changes several times every hour, and intelligently downloads only those changes that are different from the last downloaded content. If you desire an immediate update, you can always use the new Pull-To-Refresh mechanism in the “Sections” menu.

The new version of the app does not appear to update properly

Great overall (4 stars)
This is a great app overall. Politico has great news coverage, and the app is up to date and easy to use. The article layout is very clean, and nice adjustable fonts.

There are a few flaws however. First, it pops up two alert notifications for everything that happens.

Second, the interface is clunky when moving to different sections. I wish they would give you all of the stories in the main section so you do not have

Great content before the crash (2 stars)
Great app was a favorite till the new version became unstable. 5 crashes today. Seems to be a problem with video clips….even when you don't try to play them. Any page they are on crashes before its fully loaded.
