The MGRS / UTM Convertor is program for Convert Coordinate between Latitude/Longitude to UTM and MGRS or reverse order.

What it does:

– Displays your current location in Latitude / Longitude, UTM and MGRS in main screen.
– Send out your location by GeoSMS. an international open standard.
– Use iMessage to send GeoSMS by SMS, Mobile network (2G/3G) or WIFI to anyone at any phone. or any MAC/iPod/iPad/ iPhone by iMessage service.
– Tap your current location in Map, as well in Street View.
– Help you in convert of Lat/Lon into/from UTM, MGRS.
– Turn on / off the flash of iPhone 4/4S, use as Torch.
– Enhanced GPS Refresh Rate( 15 Second / 1 minute / 5 minute / 10 minute ). i.e. the iPhone's power consumption is greatly reduced.
– it does support Exceptions grid zone 31V 32V of Norway. Also, in the region around Svalbard, the four grid zones 31X , 33X , 35X, and 37X. but no field testing was done. please feedback if you test good!!

Note:
– This app is delivered with WGS84 ellipsoid and used as the default datum.
– This app current not support Universal Polar Stereographic (UPS) coordinate system, i.e. (polar regions North of 84N and South of 80S)
– THIS SOFTWARE MUST NOT BE USED FOR PRIMARY NAVIGATION!!

what is OPEN GeoSMS:

Open GeoSMS is an international open standard from the Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC). It encodes short messages with geospatial information for interoperable communications among different mobile systems and Location-Based Service (LBS) applications. The function of Open GeoSMS is to enable interoperable communication of location content between different LBS devices or applications using the extended Short Message Service (SMS), while maintaining human readability of the content.

iMessage integration :

With the help of iMessage, you can send your location to almost any one with any smartphone, then the one received your location can know your place and directed by Driving/walk/public traffic directions from build-in maps APP.

if the receiver with Apple ID, though the iMessage service, the location message is free of change. if go though the mobile SMS service, normal SMS change will be apply!!

With the iMessage service, You can send unlimited location information and text message via Wi-Fi or 3G from your iPhone/iPad or iPod touch to anyone with one of those devices. or any other smartphone with SMS message. the detail and configuration of iMessage, please refer to the apple!!
