Sendero GPS LookAround for the iPhone, with Voice Over, announces the current street, city, cross street, heading and nearby points of interest. Unlike Sendero's other applications, there is no turn-by-turn navigation on the iPhone yet. No ads are displayed in LookAround. Note: LookAround prompts and menus are in English. The quality of maps and POIs may vary depending upon location. The highest quality data is in North America and Europe. Other countries are available for LookAround but the data quality may be marginal, especially outside major cities. Voice Over is free text to speech software built into the iPhone. When enabled under Settings, General, Accessibility, it provides a verbal representation of the print text shown on the screen, an essential feature for people who are blind and useful for people with sight as well.

Decent App (5 stars)
I purchased this app for 2 reasons:
1) to aid me in locating points of interest along my route while navigating in the city with my guide dog.
2) to SUPPORT a company which is in business to create adaptive technology which helps people who are low-vision, blind.

Keep up the good work Sendero Group. We look forward to seeing some more apps from you.

Mike May: I'm not too happy right now. Just bought this app for my new ITouch, and it gives me the message, "Can't connect to the Internet." I am able to connect to other sites on the web, so I don't know what the problem is. I really was hoping to spread the word among my VI students Can you help?

Don't Bother (2 stars)
There are three main features in this program:
– Compass
– Nearby Intersection
– POI

The Compass is simply the compass already on your iPhone, so this does not justify the a reason to purchase this app.

Knowing nearby intersections is nice, but apps like Around Me, Skobbler, and other free navigation apps can do this for Voice Over equally as well.

Finally POI… So it tells you restaurants in a 1.2 mi
