Coverage? by Two Steps Beyond
DescriptionThe only app that directly overlays and compares carrier coverage maps! Perfect for travelers – research where you're covered across the USA! Coverage provides an at-a-glance, “universal” cellular data coverage map by interactively overlaying maps from major US cellular providers. Coverage is created by a pair of technomads who rely on mobile internet data as they travel full time. It focuses on helping mobile bandwidth junkies know where carriers claim they might get their next hit, no matter what network (or combination of networks) they use. ** Know before you go: Coverage has standardized each major carrier's data map so they can be easily overlayed, creating a personalized coverage map of your mobile tech arsenal. ** No internet needed: All coverage maps are stored locally; check where coverage is most likely even when you have none. ** Urban and rural areas: Maps cover the entire continental USA, Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, and the US Virgin Islands for AT&T, Sprint, Verizon & T-Mobile. ('Coverage?' is not intended to give city level details – it's goal is to provide an overview while traveling) ** Know where to roam: view LTE, 4G (HSPA+ & WiMax), 3G, 2G and roaming areas as inclusive overlays, focus on finding the coverage type you need. ** Bask in the joys of mobile data bandwidth while avoiding the sorrows of roaming usage caps and absent signal. Check our website at http://www.technomadia.com/coverage to learn the story behind Coverage, and for a quick video demo. —————- Coverage FAQ: Q: What makes 'Coverage?' unique? And unlike apps that rely on user submitted data, Coverage? reports claims for the entire USA, not just in popular markets. —————- Named 'Essential Tool' by Wired Magazine, 2011 App Guide!!! ** Winner – 'Most Useful App' – iOSDevCamp 2010 ** “this app can be indispensable” – Lifehacker.com (1/13/11) —————- Note that the maps in Coverage are our own proprietary interpretations of the coverage reported by each carrier. You should not rely on the maps in Coverage to be perfectly precise or comprehensively up to date, though we intend to update them approximately quarterly. For now, map update are included – but we do reserve the right in the future to issue updates on a subscription basis, to cover the continued labor cost of creating them. Coverage does not report or predict signal strength, just what each carrier claims. We can only report what the carriers do. We can of course make no promises as to where you'll *actually* get signal. The goal of Coverage is to give you an indication of where you're most likely to catch a wave. So Got Coverage? What's New in Version 2012.5Due to lots of recent LTE rollouts, we have bumped up our quarterly update cycle with refreshed maps for AT&T and Verizon. We continue to monitor coverage changes for the major carriers, and strive to find the balance between effort and keeping current. Thank you for your continued interest in Coverage?
