Did you know that letters could sing? Welcome to the Ministry of Letters' Singing Alphabet. We have worked with experts in child development to ensure this app will engage children with the world of letters and word making in a completely new and imaginative way. Our letters are fun and friendly characters that children will love playing with.

Each time a child presses a letter it will sing its phonetic sound. Your child can press as many letters as they want and the tune will always sound harmonious. Children can enjoy creating new songs with different combinations of letters or singing along with a single letter and practicing its sound!

They can explore making their own words by pressing the pen at the bottom of the screen to show the letters they have chosen. They can hear what the words sound like when they sing and enjoy playing with different combinations. Practicing the weekly spelling test with your child will never be so enjoyable!

This is a fun, engaging app to encourage children to really enjoy the alphabet and have fun making words. It entertains a range of ages with younger children discovering the alphabet for the first time and older ones competing to make the best words.

**UPDATE** Whilst troubleshooting some of this issues reported with sound we discovered that some users had accidentally 'muted' the app using the lock screen switch. The easiest way to check is by looking in Settings, under General and if “Use Side Switch to:” is set to “Mute” as opposed to “Lock Rotation” you need to change this.
If it is set to “Mute” then even with the volume indicator set to full you will not be able to hear anything.

What's New in Version 1.1

The app will now run on first generation iPads. Sorry for those of you on iPad1's that have experienced a problem. Please update and this new version should now work for you.

Design and Creativity! (5 stars)
I am so impressed with this app. I have not had any of the problems the other people had – works great for me. Sounds like there was just a minor technical error but that happens to every app from time to time. I looooove the design and think this is one of the most creative children's pieces out there. I just found myself playing on it for 15 minutes by myself (!) so I had to write a review to complement the creators/artists. I style is abs

Fun and educational! (5 stars)
THIS DOES WORK! If you have an iPad 2 the sound works, and it is FANTASTIC! My kids love spelling out their names, making up random words, tapping on all the letters, taking all the letters away one by one….hours of fun to be had, and the funky tune isn't annoying (unlike some other apps) a great stand alone app, but even better if you have the book. I love apps that help my kids learn without them knowing it! Keep up the good work!

I LOVE IT! No probs with the sound. Kids are transfixed, but the grown-ups are getting as much fun out of it at this end. Seems we all like to hear our name in sounds. Will recommend this to my kids' pre-school moms.
