Description1200 miles north-west of Honolulu, 2800 miles west of San Francisco and 2200 miles from Japan the Midway Atoll rises out of the Pacific just made for seabirds. The wildlife photographer, Klaus Jost, has taken photos of many seabirds, also in the region of the storm-raging Cape Agulhas at the south point of Africa. The global pollution of the oceans caused by the cleaning of the ships oil tanks, oil-tanker accidents with vast oil films, the sinking of chemical or radioactive refuse, overfishing of the oceans and the various fishing methods all threaten the population of the seabirds.
