Description
Hidden Pics Indonesian is a fun way to develop word recognition and vocabulary memorisation skills when learning English and/or Indonesian as a second language. Hidden Pics is a word/picture matching game that features two different modes a continuous mode and a three-minute mode where the user competes against the clock. The basic aim of the game is to identify the missing picture from a list of possible options. As the user progresses through a topic new vocabulary is introduced on a drip feed, meaning that, as the user plays, their knowledge of vocabulary increases.
Designed by a languages teacher, with more than twenty years of experience in the classroom, Hidden Pics is an ideal way to improve memorisation of vocabulary. Hidden Pics will especially appeal to visual learners, with more than 500 images in ten different topics including numbers, animal, food and everyday items nouns as well as frequently used adjectives and verbs. The inclusion of colourful and interesting images encourages the user to think within the target-language rather than to simply translate from one language to another. By thinking within the target language the user will become closer to mastery of the vocabulary. Hidden Pics may also be a useful tool in early literacy development in a first language.
Hidden Pics also includes a Learn option which enables the user to familiarise themselves with the target vocabulary prior to playing the game. The Learn section within the app can also be used as a useful glossary where the user can look up words, self-test and revise.
