Accountability by OneTrackMac

Noteworthy Features: – Clean, elegant interface that makes the most of screen real-estate without being obtrusive. – Separate viewing modes for Accounts and Envelopes. – Split feature allows you to split an Account entry into multiple envelopes for quick budgeting. – Amount entries are fast and simple. No need to type minus sign, or decimal point. – All Names and Memos are indexed for quick selection on future entries. – Fast search feature that shows matching entries as you type. – Simple, fast editing. (e.g. If the entry needs to be changed from a positive to a negative: Open it, and tap Debit and done!) – Synchronized transfer entries. Changes on one side of the transfer are automatically updated on the other. – Simple backup and restore feature through email or iTunes Sharing. – Easy reconciliation by double tapping on the calendar icon. If you are one of the millions working a written budget to get out of debt or better yet, stay out of debt, then you know that there is nothing better than the envelope system for reinforcing the inconvenient truth that just because you have a stack of money in your checking account does not mean you can afford to spend it on that latest toy. The envelope system makes this fact a reality. However, in the electronic age it is increasingly difficult to fully implement the old envelope system. Accountability resolves that difficulty by thrusting the age-old envelope system into the digital era. It affords almost all the advantages of the physical envelope system while adding the convenience and security of modern banking. With Accountability you can safeguard your money in a bank account and still divide it into envelopes. The best of both worlds! Accountability automatically maintains two lists of balances. First, your Accounts. For instance, Checking, Savings, Cash, etc. Second, your Envelopes. For instance, Emergency Fund, Food, Transportation, etc. The Accounts view lets you keep track of where your actual money is and makes statement reconciliation a breeze, while the Envelopes view holds you accountable to your spending plan. When you spend (or deposit) money, you simply choose which account the expenditure was made from and which envelope it should be deducted from; Accountability takes care of the rest keeping Accounts and Envelopes synchronized. Unlike other budgeting apps that attempt to emulate the envelope system, Accountability allows you to split money from any account into any number of envelopes, and from any envelope into any account. For instance, you might have an Emergency Fund of $6000, with $4000 in your Savings account and $2000 in Cash. You can transfer money between Accounts without changing what Envelopes the money is assigned to, and you can transfer between Envelopes without changing which account the money is in. Accountability is for anyone living on a budget, and especially those that like the structure of the envelope system but don't want to loose the convenience of electronic banking. What's New in Version 1.4.1Fixed bug affecting non-US currency entry. Customer ReviewsGreat app (4 stars)
